Layaway makes a comeback
Putting holiday gifts on layaway is making a comeback, especially with consumers who can't get credit. Popular years ago before the everyday use of credit cards, layaway programs are being revamped by retailers such as Sears, Kmart, Toys R Us and, most recently, Wal-Mart Stores.
